Using Avalanche, you can manage onsite devices through a wireless LAN and support remote sites over any WAN connection. The central console lets you check and deploy the right settings for a host of popular devices and operating systems: Symbol, Fujitsu, Intermec, PSC, HP/Compaq, Windows, Windows Pocket PC, Windows CE, Palm and even legacy DOS. Once you've defined device-specific profiles for firmware, utilities, drivers, software and so on, Avalanche automatically handles the repetitive process of updating each unit.
Avalanche increases the security of your wireless network by enabling quick, easy updates to parameters such as SSID, WEP, EAP, LEAP and 802.1x settings--without adding new devices or infrastructure. When you use Avalanche in conjunction with Wavelink Mobile Manager (our solution for AP management), capabilities such as automatic WEP key rotation and rogue AP detection protect your network from unauthorized equipment and malicious intrusions.
Reduce device downtime and maintain end-user productivity by using Avalanche Remote Control. By using Avalanche Remote Control, you can take over a device's user interface, file system, registry, processes, applications and power settings and get a mobile device back in operation with the least amount of time and cost.
Visibility helps you gain control. To monitor and manage your installed base of mobile devices, Avalanche provides real-time visibility into their status. It also helps you keep track of all managed assets and even lets you export asset data to reporting applications.
When it's time for updates, upgrades and other maintenance activities, Avalanche keeps mobile devices in the field where they belong. It automatically downloads new information directly to each device via the wireless LAN-no cradles, docking stations or serial connections required.
