PowerNet Twin Client is the premier solution for portable wireless terminal users, proven by over 10 years of use by 800 companies on more than 250,000 terminals at 11,000 locations in 14 countries. Whether you have a network that employs direct telnet connections or one that employs the advantages of a server, PowerNet will fit in your application (hence the name Twin Client).
PowerNet Twin Client works for DOS, CE, PocketPC, Palm, and Linux-based terminals made by all of the major manufacturers. PowerNet also works with both Linux and Windows based server environments. It works for legacy applications using VT100/220, 5250, or 3270 emulations. If you are running browser-based applications, PowerNet allows text-based terminals to work with Internet applications and legacy applications. PowerNet is compatible with all 802.11 radios and selected 900Mhz radios, as well as IRDA, BlueTooth, and serially connected portable printers.
The Airloader feature does the work for system administrators that manage the software and on hundreds of terminals at hundreds of different locations. Screen Formatter is an optional add-on that allows non-standard portable displays to be used effectively with standard Browser, VT, 5250, and 3270 applications.
PowerNet Twin Client is fully configurable, eliminating the need for custom software development. Every aspect of terminal operation can be tailored to add value:
- Display Control and Formatting: Eliminate custom application work and increase user satisfaction by tailoring the non-standard portable displays for efficient use with standard applications.
- Scan Decoder Control: Reduce errors by selectively enabling and disabling symbologies, and controlling their characteristics.
- Scanner Input Editing: Ensure compatibility with applications by automatically preprocessing scanner input.
- Scanner Input Mapping: Increase productivity and reduce operator workload by substituting scanner input for time-consuming keyboard entries.
- Dialog Scripting: Increase productivity and reduce operator workload by automating complex, repetitive activities (e.g., application startup procedures).
- Keyboard Macros: Increase productivity and reduce operator workload by automatically converting single keystrokes into complex data inputs.
- Keyboard Mapping: Ensure compatibility and increase user satisfaction by tailoring the non-standard portable keyboard for efficient use with standard applications.
- Diagnostic Tools: Minimize integration time and operational downtime with real time diagnostics. Screen Watcher lets administrators, developers, and technicians see exactly what the operator sees on the terminal. RF Monitor lets engineers see what the terminal is processing. Both of these tools can be used remotely, eliminating the need for on-site support personnel.
- Communications: Save time and enhance communications with Terminal Messenger by sending messages to terminal operators. Messages can be sent to individual terminals, a selected group of terminals, or broadcast to all.
- Customization: Number your Airloader options in the order of your priority. This Formatter feature is accessed with the Details button in the Authorization screen.
- View authorization codes issued: Use the Listing button in the Authorization screen to view authorization codes in use along with their corresponding serial numbers.
- Get/Save feature: Use a Load button to load a .svr file. Use a Save As button to save your file as a .svr file.
- Terminal Operations: Make the terminal program act more Windows-like with the Use GUI menus and screens option. Enable aggressive linear decoding and enable the centering beam during imaging.
- Schedule an automatic Airloader update: Use the Schedule button to view a dialog box for scheduling an automatic Airloader update.
- Thin Mode feature: Use a button in the Terminal Auto-Configuration screen to switch all terminals in a group that are currently running in thick mode to thin mode the next time Airloader is run on the terminal.
- Server Transfer: Enter your server address in an FTP Settings screen to send object editor and configuration files from Windows to your Linux box.
