Honeywell just added the Dolphin® 6100 to their line of mobile computers. It is a pocket-sized device built for light industrial wireless data collection applications inside-the-four-walls. The Dolphin 6100 features the new Marvell XScale PXA300 microprocessor and the familiar Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 operating system. It comes standard with a 2D imager powered by Adaptus Imaging Technology 5.0 allowing for omnidirectional scanning of linear and 2D barcodes, digital image capture, and electronic signature capture. The contoured, narrow, and lightweight design provides comfortable gripping and easy thumb access to the entire keypad and scan key.
The Dolphin 6100 is designed for retail and other light-industrial applications such as inventory management, price lookups & audits, merchandising, and customer assistance. Honeywell is positioning the Dolphin 6100 to compete against the Motorola MC55, Motorola FR6000, Datalogic Memor, Psion NEO, and Casio DT-X7 mobile computers. Orders for the Dolphin 6100 will begin shipping in August.
