Seagull Scientific's BarTender Basic Edition is for users who just need BarTender's essential label design and printing features. It delivers the most frequently used label design features, includes all text, graphics, barcode, and most serializing capabilities. The Basic Edition is useful for keyboard and scanner-supplied label data only. The licensing is based on the number of workstations running BarTender, regardless of whether or not they are on a common network.
The Basic Edition has no access to external data. It does not allow for password protection, VB Script customization, or string concatenation, and only limited text filtering. There is no custom-base serialization or Printer Maestro.
