Intermec SR61XR Handheld Scanner: World’s First for Near/Far Scanning

With the Intermec SR61XR handheld scanner, there is no need to own multiple devices for near and far scanning. The world’s first scanner with integrated near/far area imaging technology handles both 1D and 2D scanning from 6 inches all the way to 50 feet away.

The Intermec SR61XR’s scanning technology can create significant savings for businesses that need the flexibility to scan from a wide range of distances. In addition, it eliminates the hassle of juggling more than one scanner in the workplace.

Intermec SR61 XR Handheld Scanner

The rugged Intermec SR61XR handheld scanner has been future-proofed so it’s ready to handle both 2D and stacked barcode symbologies.

Easy targeting from long distances

The Intermec SR61XR linear imager includes a laser spot aimer and omni-directional scanning. As a result, it’s easy to target barcodes, even at long ranges. This makes the scanner ideal for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Inventory management
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Cross docking
  • Pallet tracking
  • Field service
  • Compliance labeling
  • Scanning from vehicles such as trucks and forklifts
  • Other common scanning tasks in distribution centers and warehouses

With Intermec’s patented scanning algorithm, VESTA, scan range can be increased by an average of 60 percent for EAN/UPC and Code 39 symbologies. Thanks to advanced imaging capabilities such as multi-code reading, image and video capture, and data parsing, users can scan:

  • 1D barcodes
  • 2D barcodes
  • Composite codes
  • Postal codes
  • Images
  • Signatures
  • Documents
  • Damaged, poorly printed and partially obscured codes
  • Barcodes in varied lighting conditions

The ruggedized scanner can withstand 26 drops of up to 6.5 feet onto concrete or steel. In addition, it can handle:

  • Temperature extremes, both hot (122 degrees) and cold (-4 degrees)
  • Windblown dust and rain
  • Constant vibration from vehicles such as forklifts

No technical hassles for users

Thanks to a wired or Bluetooth wireless USB 2.0 interface, barcode data and images can be quickly transmitted to the host system. The scanner includes Intermec’s EasySet software setup tool, which allows for easy configuration and personalization. This includes setting up barcode symbologies, decoding poor-quality or damaged codes, or indicating that images should be captured to provide proof of delivery. Other customizable options include:

  • Beeper tones
  • Beeper volume
  • Good read and error read responses
