Wireless Site Surveys
System ID's Engineering Team specializes in performing wireless site surveys and product recommendations for data capture projects that involve wireless scanners, hand-held and vehicle mounted data collectors, printers, assess points, routers, hubs, bridges and switches. Our Engineering Team provides on-site evaluations of your facility to ensure that you have exactly the right type and amount of equipment and that it's in the proper location for your project's success. We are fully capable of working with equipment from all of the major wireless manufacturers including: Symbol, PSC, Intermec, Hand Held Products, LXE, Zebra and Cisco.
On a typical wireless site survey, our Engineering Team will:
- Determine proper type, number and location of access points and antennas
- Analyze the existing WAN/LAN architecture and infrastructure to determine if there are additional hubs, routers or switches required for the WLAN
- Determine power requirements for the WLAN
- Identify "dead" coverage areas produced by physical obstructions and/or RF interference and recommend solutions to compensate
Upon completion of the wireless site survey, the System ID Engineering Team provides a comprehensive written report and site map that details the exact equipment requirements and placement for optimal coverage and integration with your existing network.
Most surveys are completed in one day, but facilities with more than 500,000 sq. feet, multiple sites, or unusual contents may take longer. Pricing for a site survey is dependant upon the location, size and type of facility, so please call our staff for an accurate estimate. The cost of performing a wireless site survey will easily pay for itself by minimizing the amount of equipment needed to purchase and eliminating post-installation issues that result in poor wireless coverage.
