Fixed Mount Barcode Scanners

Fixed mounting scanning is also referred to as Unattended Scanning Systems (USS). USS is used in conveyor systems and are typically used in conjunction with Print and Apply machines, Automatic Sortation and Checkweigh systems. Engineered properly, these types of systems will typically create a fast ROI due to reduction in workforce and decrease in inventory management errors. Because a fixed scanner is unattended, they are highly configurable to assure successful scanning in the most difficult environment.

Factors that are considered during design of a USS are conveyor speed, orientation of the barcode, quality/size of barcode, depth of read field (constant or variable) and number of barcodes that may be scanned simultaneously. The more challenging any of these factors are, the higher the quality scanner is required to successfully meet an acceptable read rate.
